Dr Andrew Fraser-Harris - Challenge 4
With a background in geology, Andrew studied for a PhD in coupled-process modelling of engineered barriers in the subsurface from the University of Edinburgh. He now combines both experimental and numerical investigations to study coupled processes occurring in the subsurface as a result of geoenergy-related activities in fields such as geothermal energy, unconventional hydrocarbons, and radioactive waste disposal. A common theme of the transport of fluids in fractures has underpinned these research activities with more recent interest focussed on the impacts of the transported fluids and the risks associated with developing potential resources that could support a just transition to net-zero.
