Dr Nicola De Paola - Challenge 3
Nicola is Associate Professor of Structural Geology and Rock Mechanics at Durham University (UK).
He obtained his PhD in structural Geology at the University of Durham (UK) in 2005. In 2012, Nicola established the Rock Mechanics Laboratory Group (RMLG) at Durham University. Throughout his career, Nicola has adopted a research approach that combines field, microstructural, and rock physics and mechanics experimental datasets. His research interests in fault and earthquake mechanics have recently broaden to include human induced seismicity studies. Recent work carried out in the Rock Mechanics Laboratory Group at Durham University contributed to our understanding of the evolution of fault strength during earthquake slip.
