Dr Robin Thomas - Challenge 2

Dr Robin Thomas is a research associate in the Rock Mechanics Group at Imperial College in London. His PhD was with conducted at ICL between 2015-19 within the NERC HydroFrame project, under the supervision of Adriana Paluszny and Robert Zimmerman. This project was part of the Radioactivity and the Environment (RATE) programme. After completing his PhD in 2019, he has continued to work in the group as a research associate. He has worked on several projects in this role, including BP ICAM-39 (hydraulic fracturing in soft sands), and the Rock Mechanics Computation for Mining project (ROMCOM). His research interests include fracture mechanics, fluid flow in porous media, coupled processes in rocks, and numerical methods. His work has applications to radioactive waste disposal, hydraulic fracturing, mining, and carbon sequestration.
