The ECR writing retreat will be taking place on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 March 2022 at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. This will follow the model of a structured writing retreat. Structured writing retreats have been shown to create dedicated writing time, foster peer support; they can also enable academics to make long-term changes to their writing practices (Murray and Newton, 2009, Higher Education Research and Development vol. 28, iss. 5).

The UKUH ECR writing retreat will be facilitated by writer and coach Dr Nicole Janz, who has a wealth of experience facilitating writing retreats, writing challenges (e.g. as part of November writing month #acwrimo) and goal setting workshops. Nicole will provide resources ahead of time (e.g. on goal setting) and give you support with roadblocks and writing challenges during the retreat.
