Shale Gas and Crime

Paul Stretesky from Challenge 5 has published a systematic review of the relationship between shale gas development and crime.
The majority of studies in the review found that shale gas development increases total crime, violent crime, property crime, social disorganisation crimes and violence against women. The findings should be considered by policymakers and planners when determining whether and how shale development should be allowed.
