UKUH News: C1 & C4
Following the retirement of Prof Rob Ward in June, we are delighted to welcome Dr Corinna Abesser to the UKUH programme as a new Co-Investigator on Challenge 1. Corinna is a fantastic addition to the Programme, bringing over 16 years’ experience in groundwater flow and heat transport modelling. She is Geothermal Lead at the BGS and an Academic Fellow at POST. Her experience and knowledge will be invaluable for the delivering UKUH’s legacy and impact programme over its final year. Welcome to UKUH!
We are also pleased to announce that Dr Pauline Smedley, who, following Rob’s retirement, has been assigned the Principal Investigator for Challenge 4. Pauline has been a key contributor to C4 since the start of UKUH. We wish Pauline well in her new role.
Thanks go to Rob Ward for his commitment and dedication to this research programme and more broadly his work on monitoring strategies for shale gas developments in the UK. His work has been fundamental to support regulators and industry develop best practice and improve knowledge of the spatial and temporal variations of environmental baselines.
