The key aim of the UKSGL project is to provide a cross-cutting consortium to establish the current and future status of the shale gas landscape (SGL) in the UK. The objectives of UKSGL are to:
Provide evidence on the current status of the SGL, with a specific focus on:
UK resources
Environmental research
Social, political and economic dimensions
Regulatory and legal framework
Monitor the changes of the SGL
Procure specific research projects allowing the team to innovate quickly in response to the rapidly changing SGL
Develop and evolve a conceptual model of the SGL
Design and undertake coordination and synthesis activities across all of the Programme’s projects.
