Session 4

The discussion focused on our UKUH research findings which have direct applicability to the underground storage of CO2 and H2 in porous media.

Session Chair: Professor Andrew Alpin

We were delighted to welcome Philip Ringrose, a specialist in Reservoir Geoscience at Equinor and Adjunct Professor of CO2 storage at Norwegian University of Science and Technology, in discussion with Quentin Fisher from Challenge 3.
Participants discussed uncertainties and constraints of geomechanical and physicochemical processes of CO2 storage.
Supporting lively debate, discussions focused on the safety aspects of CO2 storage, the cost of monitoring to confirm containment and the long-term reservoir stability.
Copies of the presentations are avialble above.
